Born September 22, 1944 in Effingham, IL she had been a Birmingham resident for the past 28 years moving from Marion, Ohio.
She was a member of the Vermilion Church of the Nazarene where she had been active on the church Board. Carol was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed reading the bible and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Edgar Bass, 3 sons, Brian Bass of Wellington, Eric (Shannon) Bass of Birmingham, and Matthew Bass of Wakeman; daughter, Jennifer (Rick) Rosson of Westlake, 6 grandchildren: Sam, Kylee, Dominic, Logan, Ariana, and Connor; father, Irby Lapington of Henderson, KY; brothers, James Lapington of Little Rock, AR, Wayne Lapington of Louisville, IL; and Steve Lapington of Mt. Vernon, IL; and 3 sisters, Barbara Conley of Charleston, IL, Janet Leathers of Marion, Ohio; and, Judy Sigler of Mt. Carmel, IL.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Lucille (nee Doty) Lapington.
