(ROANOKE) Pierce D. Hurley, age 80, of 212 Mulberry Street, Roanoke, died Wednesday, March 25, 1987, in Randolph County Hospital, Roanoke.

Mr. Hurley is survived by his wife, Mrs. Verna B. Hurley; four daughters, Mrs. Alene Driver, Mrs. Betty Williams, Mrs. Rebecca Kirby, and Mrs. Deborah Fincher, all of Roanoke; one son, Frank Hurley of Roanoke; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bertha McNair of Gadsden; and one brother, Archie Hurley of College Park, Ga.

Funeral services for Mr. Hurley were conducted Thursday, March 26, at 2:00 p.m. from Welcome Home Baptist Church, the Rev. Ridley Herren, the Rev. S. T. Janney, and the Rev. Vernon Brown officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers Pete Whaley, Michael Marine, Houston Carlisle, Hulon Carlisle, Jackie McCard, Clayton Brown, John Hurley, and Junior Birdsong.

Active pallbearers [grandchildren] were Wendell Williams, Billy Driver, Larry Driver, Mike Kirby, Marvin Kirby and Gary Driver.

Quattlebaum's Brown-Service Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
