Mrs. Mattie Allen, wife of George Allen, died last Saturday at her home after a brief illness, her death being due to organic heart trouble. Mrs. Allen and her husband have resided in Salida for nearly twenty years. For some time they were associated with the brick yards, but several years ago they moved to their present home on the county road south of D street. Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband and several children. None of the children have been located, and so have not been informed of their mother's death. Funeral services were held from the Churcher & Johnson chapel Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Loomis of the Free Methodist church officiating. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery
