Robert William Wegman, 71, died Monday, February 27, 2012 in San Francisco.
Bob was born on April 24, 1940, in Santa Clara to William and Anita Wegman. Due to the death of his mother from childbirth complications, he and his twin sister were raised by their father and step-mother, Martha Wegman.
Bob's authority in California water polo swimming was legendary , and his accomplishments were recently recognized in a hall of fame induction. With over 30 years spent teaching and coaching, his influence on the lives of thousands of De Anza College and Buchser High School students, players and other colleagues is his greatest and enduring achievement.
In addition to Physical Education, Bob's hobbies included SCUBA, abalone diving and travel to tropical destinations. His positive outlook, bigger than life personality, and dedication to always speak his mind will be missed.
A memorial service will be held on April 1, 2012, at the Los Gatos Lodge in at 1:00 p.m.
