Mary Elizabeth Rainwater was the daughter of Zebalon Rainwater and Rhoda Eskew. She married James Madison Ray on December 24, 1865 in Tennessee. Mary Elizabeth died on the trail coming to Indian Territory, and was actually buried in the Braden Bottoms, by an old silo. It has been told that where this old silo was, eventually it was covered up with concrete and no one knows where it is now.
