WORLD WAR II∼Services for Thomas L. Ailstock, 83, Lawrence, are pending at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence. Burial will be in Iola.
Mr. Ailstock died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1993, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 26, 1909, in Iola, to Columbus and Josephine Richardson Ailstock. He attended public schools in Iola and graduated from Iola High School in 1929.
Mr. Ailstock was a veteran of World War II who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945.
He moved from Iola to Lawrence in 1958 and was a member of St. Luke AME Church for 34 years, serving as a steward and trustee.
Mr. Ailstock was a member of the Service League for 17 years and was the current vice president.
He married Connie Lee Hundley on July 22, 1951, in Iola. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a sister, Ruby Coleman, Leavenworth.
