Arthur T. 'Poppa' Boston (Age 73) went home to be with The Lord on February 16, 2007. He was born in Spokane on August 27th 1933 to Abe and Ina Boston. Art was the younger brother to his sisters Lois Angstrom (Creston) and Bea Forsmann (Couer d'Alene). When he was in the 3rd grade the family moved to Creston Washington. He graduated from Creston High School and went on to work at the Lincoln Sawmill. On July 13, 1952, Art married the beautiful Vera M. Winter. In 1956 they welcomed their daughter Christa Sue and in 1958 their daughter Cindy Lee. Art was very involved in his community. One of his passions was the volunteer fire department. At one time, he had accrued the 2nd most hours ever volunteered in the entire state. He sat on the Creston school board for several years. Acting in that capacity he was able to give both of his daughters their high school diplomas. He served with Vera as the Grand Marshals of the Creston Community Day Parade in the late 1990's. He also served his country in the Army stationed in Germany. He was an active member of VFW Post 6268 serving as Post Commander 1978-1979. Art is survived by his daughter Christa DiStefano, his daughter and son-in-law Russ and Cindy McInerney and his grandsons Chase, Kellen, and Garret. Two sisters; Lois Angstrom of Creston and Bea Forsmann of Couer d'Alene, ID. His nephews and their wives Blake and Carol Angstrom and Brad and Claudine Angstrom of Creston, Jack and Ellie Forsmann of Rove, Oklahoma, Earl Forsmann of Tacoma; and niece Donna Forsmann of Couer d'Alene. Two of Arts' best buddies Dave Wheeler of New Mexico and Al Middleton of Sumner, WA. He was preceded in death by his wife Vera in July of 2000. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Creston Church with Pastor Don Hoffman officiating. Military Graveside Services will follow at Creston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to VFW Post 6268 Wilbur, WA or Hospice of Spokane. STRATE FUNERAL HOME, WILBUR, WA is caring for the family.
