Stanley Arthur Barsness, age 101, of Glenwood, MN, died on April 25, 2011, at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood surrounded by his family. A memorial service and internment will be held at the Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery in the summer of 2011. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Stanley was born to Samuel and Anna (Heggestad) Barsness September 4, 1909, in Glenwood, Minnesota. He graduated from Glenwood Public High School in 1927. In 1940 he married Opal Nyvold from Montevideo, Minnesota. Stanley worked for the North American Creamery Company in Glenwood until they closed. He then started his own company, the Glenwood Spring Water Company, which distributed spring and distilled water in the local area. Stanley also owned and operated a school bus service for the Glenwood Public Schools for many years. He was a lifetime member of Glenwood Lutheran Church.

Stanley is survived by 3 sons, Jerome, Robert, and David; 10 grandchildren - Suzanne, Jeff, Todd, Chris, Jonathan, Lisa, Bobbie, Angie, Lindsey, Andrew; and several great-grand children.

Stanley was preceded in death by his loving wife, Opal, son Ronald, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.
