Julius was a member of Company C 9th Wisconsin Infantry in the Civil War.

Julius Bartz.
Julius Bartz, a pioneer resident of this
county, and a civil war veteran, died at
his home near Elgin August 4. Death
was due to a complication of diseases.
He was born Oct 6, 1847, in Province
Posen. Germany and came to America in
1853. In 1872 he was united in marriage
to Miss Amelia Radel at Deerfield,
Minn., and settled an a farm near Elgin,
and has ever since been a resident of
this county. He leaves a wife and ten
children. The funeral was held from the
German Lutheran church at Elgin Thurs­
day at 2 o'clock, Rev. E. H. T. Walther
officiating.
