Myra Newman Avery, 95, Crystal Springs, died April 22,2000 at Pine Crest Guest Home in Hazlehurst.
Mrs. Avery was the widow of Jesse Avery. She had been the a secretary for the late Governor of MS, Hugh White at White's Lumber and Supply Company and Daniels Roofing Company. She was an active member of Central Methodist Church and the Business and Professional Women's Club of Meridian before retiring and returning home to Crystal Springs.
Graveside services were 11 AM, April 24 at Crystal Springs Cemetery with Stringer Funeral Home handling arrangements.
Survivors are sisters, Adrienne Brown and Lois Harper, both of Crystal Springs.
