Julian Lake Carter, 65, of Ada, died Oct. 15, 1998, at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.
Mr. Carter was born in Fauquier County on May 28, 1933, the son of the late Sylvester and Nancy K. Carter. He was a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Carter; two sons, Julian R. Carter of Manassas and Jesse L. Carter of Bealeton; a sister, Evelyn Darnell of Hume; a brother, Jessie Carter of Ada; and three grandchildren.
The Rev. Martin Glascock led a funeral service Oct. 20 at Royston Funeral Home in Marshall. Interment was in the Carter Family Cemetery.
