Price Thomas Crume, 95, died early Wednesday morning, November 13, 1991 at the Retirement Ranch Inc. in Clovis, NM.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 1991, at Wheeler Starlight Chapel in Portales, with the Rev. Bob Bell, pastor of Kenna Community Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Kenna Cemetery.

Crume was born January 1, 1896, in Indian Territory, Cordell, Oklahoma, to Thomas Price and Katie Rogers Crume.

Crume came to New Mexico with his family in a covered wagon and settled near Kenna in 1906. He worked as a cowboy, became a top-notch bronc rider and loved horses and the outdoor life. He loved singing and dancing. He belonged to the Methodist faith.

He married Helen Elrod on November 2, 1917 in Portales, NM. He worked as a predator control agent for the Fish and Wildlife Service for about 25 years. He helped dig the first grave in the Kenna Cemetery.

Price Thomas Crume is survived by four children and their spouses, Rowena and Top Preuit of Milnesand-Elida, Verdine and Carl Guimarin of Clovis, NM, Wayne and Carol Crume of Portales, and Dr. Elwyn and Pat Crume of Clovis; one sister, Thelma Green of Clovis; two step-daughters, Arlene Malone of Clovis and Geneva Reid of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Crume of Portales and Ida Elrod of Clovis; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Crume, who died April 29, 1935; his parents; one son, Phillip Lawrence Crume, who died in infancy; three sisters; two brothers; and two grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kenna Cemetery.
