A lifetime resident of the Adair area, she was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Adair, to Louis and Elizabeth (Prater) Hughes. She died Saturday, Aug. 15, in Vinita at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 29 days. She was a graduate of Adair High School, and went on to further her education and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita for 10 years. She married R.E. DeLozier May 16, 1942, in Vinita; he preceded her in death July 11, 2008. She was a member of the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church, and enjoyed cooking and taking vacations in the mountains of Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. She enjoyed reading magazines and books and was known for being a master of crossword puzzles. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two sons Dennis DeLozier and wife Rita, Adair and Hugh DeLozier, Vinita; grandchildren Darren DeLozier and wife Robin and Devin DeLozier and wife Becky, all of Adair; three great-grandchildren Dax, Alexandra and Dade; and one sister Helen Hughes Andrews, Ft. Worth, Texas. In addition to her husban,d she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Arnold, Virgil, Olin and Harley and sisters Maud Hall and Lena Snook. Funeral services Wednesday, Aug. 19, 10 a.m., at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church Northwest of Adair. The Rev. Eddie Bob Matthews and will officiate. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Hope Cemetery.
