On January 22, 1976, he married Madgelene "Madge" Lamberson. Jerry worked as a Sign Supervisor for TxDot, retiring after thirty years.
Jerry was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 1327.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Madge Anderson, his three children, Vernon Whipple, Jr., Melody Smith and Deborah Whipple, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, his sister, Melba, three nephews, Doug Bryant, Randy Anderson and Kyle Anderson and a niece, Tammy Hamersley, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
