59, formerly of Elizabethtown, KY, died in Louisville at his residence on September 28, 2015.
Mr. Allen was a member of First Baptist Church. A graduate of Elizabethtown High school, he was a United States Air Force Veteran and employed as a corrections officer at the KY Psychiatric Correctional Center. He was also a member of the DAV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Allen Sr. and Ruby Lucille Sprowls Allen and a brother, David Allen.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce A. Allen of Louisville; son, Rev. Eric Allen (Ellasin) of Suffolk, VA; daughters, Rodnita Allen of Louisville, Melinda Fulkerson (Charlie) of Leitchfield, KY, and Debra Board (Clint) of Leitchfield, KY; brothers Ralph Allen, Jr. Roger Allen and Allan Ladd Alexander all of Elizabethtown, KY and Dale Allen (Debra) of Louisville; nine grandchildren, Andre, Adrian, Gage, Mason, Edward, Juleon, Chalonna, Darius and Ayshia; and his mother-in-law, Irene Decker of Leitchfield, KY.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Percell and Sons Funeral Home, Elizabethtown, from 4 to 8 pm. Service will be on Friday, October 2, 2015, at 11 am at First Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
