Lillie Elise 25 Jan 1902-9 Mar 1976 (Christ Orlando Velline 20 Dec 1905-31 Mar 1991) and Joseph Christian 22 Jul 1907-28 Apr 1986 (Stella Louise Swenson 24 May 1909-9 Jul 2000).
Helen attended school in Perley and graduated from the Campus High School at Moorhead State University. She then attended Moorhead State University for two years and graduated with a two-year teaching degree. She taught at Devils Lake, ND and Perley, MN.
Helen married Ernest Herman Chelstrom 7 Jun 1941 at the Thomas Jacobson home. Ernie and Helen lived and owned the George Johnson farm in Lee Township.
They were the parents of three children: Bonnie Gay 10 Nov 1942 – living (Daryl L. Zimmer 1943 – living), Sandra Vivian 22 Oct 1944 – living (Edward L. Klotzbach, divorced 1971, Kent A. Berg 24 Nov 1943 – living) and Steven Ernest 4 Sep 1946 – living (Barbara L. Kern 19 Dec 1949 – living).
In their later years Ernie and Helen became "snow birds" and spent their winters in Casa Grande, AZ. Ernest passed away 23 Mar 1988 at Casa Grande. Funeral services were held for him at the Bethania Lutheran Church, rural Perley, 26 Mar 1988. He was 73 years old at the time of his death. Helen passed away 14 Jan 1992 at Casa Grande, AZ. She was 79 years old at the time of her passing.
