George was British
Tatlow was a trader in Omaruru around 1891.
He was an early settler who was a famer on the Farm Kassandera on 27 August 1894 and a wagon master (transport driver) who moved goods. George also gave Michael Tjiseseta a hiding place when the German Army was trying to capture him.
Owned a liquor store in town of Omaruru and at the time of his death he owned part of the old Eriksson warehouse property in Omaruru. He was among the traders and hunters who visited Ovamboland.

Grant of grazing rights
Know all men whom it may concern that I Ik Manassa Tyiseseta Chief of Omaruru have this day given and granted unto George Tatlow as grazing veldt for his cattle, hoses, sheep, goats and vee of all kinds a certain rectangular piece of ground measuring five miles (English) on each side, that is to say -- Twenty five English Square Miles in all having its centre the spring fountain or watering place known as "Etusis" or otherwise "Fellbrook".
And I do also give and grant the said George Tatlow the sole and entire right to use of the said extent of ground and of the said spring or water, without molestation from any of my people sufficient to depasture and water herd or herds of the aforsaid cattle, horses, etc.,that the said George Tatlow may choose to keep thereupon.
And this right shal continue as the said Geoge Tatlow may choose to depasture cattle, horses, etc., etc. --as aforsaid upon the ground or water them at the spring herein referred to.Signed and delivered by me at Omaruru this twelfth (12th) day of July 1889 by the consent and approval of my undersigned chief men and councillors.
