Anna A. (Swirk) Forrant, 87, longtime resident of 18 Prospect St., Ware, MA, died Wednesday, June 13, in Quaboag on the Common Nursing Home, West Brookfield, MA.
Born in Ware, MA, the daughter of John and Aniela (Bartoszek) Swirk, she lived in Ware all her life.
Anna was a spinner for five years at the former Hampshire Woolen Co., retiring in 1979. Previously, she worked many years at the former Ware Knitters, Inc. on E. Main St., Ware.
Anna was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Ware.
The funeral service was held Friday, June 15, 2001 from the Cebula Funeral Home, 66 South St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 17 North St, Ware, MA. Burial was in the New St. William Cemetery.
Anna's husband, Arthur Forrant, died in 1972. She leaves two sons, Richard A. Forrant of Vernon, Conn., and Allan M. Forrant of Wilbraham; a brother, Adalbert F. Swirk of West Springfield; two sisters, Bridget Riel and Sophie Tokarz, both of Ware; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A brother, V. William Swirk of Bondsville, and a step-brother, Edward W. Bozek of Ware, both died in 2000.
