Clyde Sylvester Garrick Jr., 84, of Norway, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at the UniHealth Post Acute Care in Bamberg.
His funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Bethel Baptist Church on Highway 332. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service for visitation. The Rev. James Kigat is officiating.
Pallbearers are Travor Garrick, Sheldon Garrick, Mark Garrick, Shane Hutto, Shannon Hutto, and Darrell Berry.
Mr. Garrick was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Norway, a son of the late Clyde Sylvester Garrick Sr. and the late Louise Garrick. He was retired from Lifetime Doors in Denmark. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eric Garrick. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty M. Garrick of Laurel Baye Nursing Home in Williston; two daughters; Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie (Nancy) Fairey of Rowesville and Mr. and Mrs. Billy (Joan) Hutto of Branchville, one son; Mr. and Mrs. Sam (Janice) Garrick of Bishopville, two brothers; Mr. and Mrs. Willie Legrande (Eula) Garrick of Jacksonville, Fla. and Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Priscilla) Garrick of Orangeburg, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Bethel Baptist Church before the funeral service. Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Orangeburg is handling services
