Susan Macduff Wood. Died bravely and peacefully on the evening of February 3rd at her home in Walnut Creek. A fifth-generation Californian, Susan was born in San Francisco in 1941, the daughter of Ralph & Jean Macduff. She spent her early years in Berkeley then attended Acalanes High School. She earned a B.A. from Willamette University, and an M.A in Medical Sociology from Ohio State University. Following her marriage to Ralph Wood she lived in Telluride, Galveston, and Houston prior to returning to the Bay Area in 1992. She was the sole proprietor of Research Administration Services, an author, a docent, served on the Contra Costa Grand Jury, and was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Church. She was a kind, beautiful, and accomplished woman who will be sorely missed by her husband, daughters, sister, aunt, cousins, and her many friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:45am on Saturday, February 28th at the Mount Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church 55 Eckley Lane, Walnut Creek. Any memorial contribution should be sent to her last enthusiasm: the Central Asia Institute, Box 7209. Bozeman, MT 59771.
