Marie J. Czech, 98
Pierz
August 1, 1915 - August 7, 2013

Marie Czech died August 7, 2013, at her home at the Pierz Villa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Annunciation in Mayhew Lake. Visitation will take place at the church two hours before Mass. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Marie was born on August 1, 1915, in St. Cloud to John and Johanna (Muehlbauer) Zormeier and grew up in the Buckman area. She married Roy Czech at St. Michael's Parish in Buckman on June 11, 1935. Roy and Marie farmed and raised their family in the Pierz, Buckman, and Fort Ripley areas and retired to a home near Little Rock Lake. After Roy passed away in 1996, Marie moved to Good Shepherd Apartments in Sauk Rapids; she later moved to Pierz to be near her daughter.

Marie was a good cook and raised a large vegetable garden each year. She had a talent for fixing broken items and repurposing ordinary household objects. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. When you visited Roy and Marie, you never could leave without having "a little lunch" of sandwiches, pickles, and cake, even if it was after 10 PM. Those who knew Marie appreciated her wit. Marie's family meant the world to her; she will be dearly missed.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Loretta Przybilla of Pierz; grandchildren, Laura (John) Wocken, Brenda Przybilla, Kevin Czech, Lynn (Craig) Solt, Nancy (Jim) Gruber, Carleen (David) Guck, Gwen (Mark) Gruber, Joan Przybilla, Lyle (Barbara) Czech, Anita (Mark) Peterson, Scott (Ann) Przybilla, Denise Astgen, Sara (Todd) Orth, Julie (Dave) Zimmer; 27 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; 7 godchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Roy; son, William (Bill); son-in-law, Roderick Przybilla; parents, John and Johanna Zormeier; brothers, George, Mathias and Joseph Zormeier; and sisters, Clara Dubbin, Margaret Gerwing, Tillie Rothstein, Barbara Tretter, and Louise Simon. Marie's family wishes to thank the staff at Pierz Villa for their excellent care for Marie.
