l M. Beck, 80, Walton, died at 9:54 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 2010, at St. Vincents Heart Center of Indiana. He was born April 11, 1930, in California, to Virgil and Ruby (Cree) Beck. In September 1949, at Salem Church near Deacon, he married Kathleen (Smith) Beck, and she survives.

He was a 1948 graduate of Young America High School. He was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Young America Lions Club and served as a deacon at Upper Deer Creek Church, Galveston. He loved music and tuned pianos for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Beck, Walton; sons, Randy (Jane) Beck, Galveston, and Garry (Joanie) Beck, Walton; daughter, Linda (Kenny) Feltis, Walton; grandchildren, Stacy (Andy) Martin, Joshua (Jamie) Beck, Brian Beck and fiancée Alicia Knueven, Ashley (Jason) Goltz, Abby (Blake) Guy, Brandon (Kathryn) Beck, Cory and fiancée Shannon Lohning and Justin Feltis; four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Carson, Tanner and Madelyn; brothers, Joe and Ruth Beck, Galveston, and Norm and Jane Beck, Flora; sister, Bessie and Jim McCoy, Galveston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Charles and Gene.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Upper Deer Creek Church, 5019 E. 1400 South, Galveston, with the Revs. Joe Coffin and Grant Merrill officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Young America. Friends may call from 2:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.
