After Caroline's mother's death in 1904, she and brother Ernest lived with her paternal Grandfather William C Smith/Schmidt 1843-1918 and his 2nd wife Anna nee Klema 1868-1943. Caroline married John Dykstra 1898-1973 on Nov 5, 1925 in Racine WI. They raised four children: Betty, Eleanor, Charles and Ernest.
