Mrs. Mary Ann Bridges, wife of the late L. M. Bridges, pioneer citizen of Winn Parish, died at her home in the Sardis Community Wednesday, May 8th, following an attack of apoplexy. Mrs. Bridges was born May 3rd, 1852, in Mississippi and came to Louisiana in early childhood. She was united in marriage to L. M. Bridges and to this union four children were born, only one of whom survives her.

At an early age Mrs. Bridges became a member of the Baptist Church and for many years lived a true Christian life.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Sardis Church by Rev. W. D. Sherwood with interment in the Brown Cemetery.

Mrs. Bridges leaves to mourn her passing one son, J. M. Bridges of the Sardis Community and numerous other relatives and friends.
