Daughter of Cotton Smith Mather and Mary Lepper Mather, also interred in this cemetery. The Mather name was variously spelled Mather/Marther/Marthar in 19th Century Iowa, for reasons unknown.

They had 2 sons, Edward S. and Robert. Robert married Agnes Irwin and moved to Lanesboro where they ran a drug store. He passed away in July, 1966. From the 1982 Calhoun County history.

After Hattie died at age 39 Henry moved into Somers where he bought livestock and operated the stockyards on the Great Western railroad. - She died in Cedar Township. Calhoun County, Iowa. & she was buried Jan 26 1905.
