Evelyn Mae Argo, age 70, of Monticello died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at the Bement Health Care Center.

Mrs. Argo was born Dec. 27, 1936 in Galesville, the daughter of Hubert "Pete" and Sula (Eastham) Gaines. She married Lewis Kenneth Argo Sr. on Dec. 28, 1954 in Urbana. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter.

Survivors include her son, Lewis Kenneth Argo Jr.; daughters, Edith Kibler and Thelma Argo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Gaines, Dawayne Gaines and Raymond Gaines and sisters, Thelma Rice, Doris Felts and Juanita Johnson.
