Birth: May 16, 1854

Pennsylvania, USA
Death: Jun. 25, 1876
Little Big Horn Battle Site

Pvt Eisemann enlisted into the army on January 15, 1872, in Philadelphia PA. Various military records spell his last name as either Eiseman or Eisemann. Enlistment records spell his name Eisemann. His listed civilian occupation was brushmaker. He was described as 5'5", dark hair, blue eyes, with a fair complexion.

On February 18, 1872, Eismann reported for duty at Rutherfordton NC & was assigned to Company C, 7th US Cavalry. Company C was commanded by two time Medal of Honor recipient, Capt Tom Custer. Capt Custer was also the brother of LTC George A Custer.

At the Battle of the Little Bighorn Company C was attached to LTC Custer's battalion. Eisemann was killed sometime during the fighting.

After the battle burial details found the remains of many soldiers from Company C on what had been the flanks of Company L on & near Calhoun Ridge.

Eisemann's remains were not identified. It is likely his unidentified remains were first buried where they had been found. In 1881 all known battlefield burials were moved to a mass grave on top of Last Stand Hill.

On September 23, 1884, Eisemann's father recieved a pension for the loss of his son.
