C.W. "Sonny" Allison was born June 3, 1927, in Hulbert to parents Arthur and Clara Rutherford Allison and passed from this life Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in Cherokee.
Sonny and Juanita Steen were married in Tulsa on July 16, 1948, and moved to Checotah in 1959. They moved to Cherokee in December 1974.
Sonny was a carpenter who was known for his very particular carpentry skills. When he did it, it was right. He was a member of Cherokee First Christian Church. He loved his family, sitting on the porch and visiting with neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita, his mother and father, and three sisters.
Those surviving are one daughter, Terri Woods and husband David of Cherokee; one son, Chris Allison and wife Carolyn of Muldrow; one sister, Pat Kitchen of Tulsa; two grandsons, Chad Woods of Burlington, Kan., and Jerad Woods and wife Anna of Hillsboro, Kan.; two granddaughters, Christy Stewart and husband Ty of Corn, and Candice Allison of Muldrow; two great-granddaughters, Leah and Autum Woods, and one great-grandson, Blake Woods of Hillsboro, Kan.
Memorials may be made to Christian Women Fellowship through the funeral home.
