Erich Martin Leonard Burger, 68, of 5709 V. Mc-Carty Ave., Bartonville, formerly of Goodfarm Township, died yesterday (Nov. 21, 1983) at his home. His funeral will be at 7 tonight at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel, the Rev. Charles Gillet officiating, and at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Goodfarm Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Goodfarm Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral chapel and after noon Wednesday at the church. Mr. Burger was born July 13, 1915, near Dwight, a son of Gottifried and Lucy Sielaff Burger. He married Martha Wilson March 9, 1946, at Bloomington. She survives. Also surviving are four sons, Thomas, McHeury; David, Eagle Grove, Iowa; and Arnold and Allen, both of Peoria; two daughters, Jacqueline Christensen, Dwight, and Elizabeth Seitz, Fulton; a brother, Robert, Chicago; five sisters, Ethel Baer, Littleton, Colo.; Gertrude Burger and Adele Burger, both of Chicago; Ruth Oren, Elbe, Wash.; and Dora Fowler, Palm Coast, Fla.; 27 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. A brother and a sister preceded him in death. Mr. Burger farmed in Goodfarm Township and was employed at Caterpillar Tractor Co., retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Peoria County Farm Bureau, Caterpillar Retirees Club and the Independent Order of Foresters. He was a former member of the Goodfarm Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr. Burger was a charter member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 618 S. Maxwell Road, Bartonville, 61607, to which memorials may be made.
