He was survived by his wife, Belle Rolen Buchan; one daughter, Dessie Mae Buchan; five sons, Roy David Buchan, Andrew Louis Buchan, Lois Arvel Buchan, Troy C. Buchan and Troyce T. Buchan, all of Winnfield; his mother, Orpha Fox Buchan; three brothers, Amos Eugene Buchan, Gaines Daniel Buchan and Joseph "Joe" Buchan; and two sisters, Mary Sina Page and Josie Smith.
