Edna Borden Ritchie
Edna Borden Ritchie, Lawrenceville, IL, died Sunday, January 9, 2005, at the United Methodist Village, Lawrenceville, IL. She was 92.
Born in Lawrence County, IL, on July 23, 1912, she was the daughter of Howard Weger and Chloe Rich Weger. Her first husband, Sharon E. Borden, died on June 9, 1982. Her second husband, Claude "Doc" Ritchie, died on June 10, 1986. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville; was a member of the United Methodist Women; did volunteer work at the United Methodist Village, Lawrence County Memorial Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN; retired in 1975 from Sears in Clinton, IA.
Survivors include one son, Sharon W. "Bud" Borden of Pensacola, FL; two sisters, Daisy Horsley of Columbia, IL and Garnette Masengale of Bremen, GA; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 14, 2005, 2:00 p.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evening, January 13, at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Jones Cemetery, Flat Rock, IL.
Memorial donations may be given to the donors choice.
