Mrs. Berg, 85, of Lincoln, died Monday (Sept. 8, 2008) at her home.
Bernice Mary Crowley was born March 10, 1923, in Stewartville, and was a graduate of Stewartville High School. She married LaVerne C. Berg on Aug. 13, 1944, in Hawthorne, Calif. For 25 years Mrs. Berg was a receptionist for Dr. Robert Perry, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Lincoln, was a Eucharistic minister for many years, and was past president of the American Legion Post 263 Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard (Linda) of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., and Donald (Fran) of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Judith (Bob) Brothman of Waukegan, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Phillip (Judy) Crowley of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Ronald Crowley of Omaha, Neb., and Dale (Phyllis) Crowley of Rochester; and two sisters, Carol (Jim) Gage of Rochester and Joann (Eugene) Jarett of Alexandria, Minn. Other survivors include a daughter-in-law, Gail Berg of Alsip, Ill. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert; her parents, Tom and Edith (Stevenson) Crowley; two brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. There will be a Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
Memorials are preferred to Carroll Catholic School in Lincoln.
