Mrs. Sallie Dillard

Died In The Mountain District This County, Some Several Days Ago.

We very much regret that, on account of some unknown cause, we failed to make mention of the death of Mrs. Sallie Dillard, widow of the late James T. Dillard, which occurred at her home in the Mountain district some few weeks ago, after a long illness. Mrs. Dillard was 72 years of age. She had been a resident of Walton county all her life, save that time she lived in Oglethorpe county. She was the daughter of J. Z. and Nancy Locklin and a sister of Mr. Jas. Z. Locklin, of this city. She was a member of historic Bethabara Baptist church, and was a most excellent Christian woman. She was the mother of several children, a number of who survive her and who are numbered among the leading citizens of their section.

It was July the 28th when the end came to the life of Mrs. Jas. T. Dillard, her husband. Five weeks and two days afterwards, she passed away.

The burial of Mrs. Dillard occurred in the Locklin cemetery, the last sad rites being conducted by Rev. D. W. Kev, of Monroe.

The editor of the News would assure those who mourn the death of this excellent lady that he holds for them the tenderest sympathy.
