Kristine (Kris) Wayment Thompson, 44, departed this life on April 4, 2001 after enduring a 25-year battle with diabetes.
Kris was born May 21, 1956 in Ogden, Utah, the youngest child of Rollo and Evelyn Saxton Wayment. Kris attended school in Weber, Davis and Salt Lake counties. In 1972 she married Patrick Carolan. They were blessed with three children, the second child living for only a few days. They were later divorced. She married Ralph Hemingway in 1981. They lived in Salem for several years. They were later divorced. In 1997 she married Dick Thompson where they resided in Spanish Fork for a year before moving to Arizona in 1997.
Kris loved the outdoors, enjoying camping, hiking, gardening, or anything that brought her close to nature. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was very sensitive to the needs of others, and would give anything she had to lift them. She was a very close friend to her mother, and often invited her over for special dinners. She was a fantastic cook. This is a joyous day for her and mom! She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Genevieve Wayment, of Ogden, her husband of Chandler, Arizona, two daughters, Keli Marie Pinardo (Aliso Viejo, CA) and Kacey (Nick) Manhart (Provo), four grandchildren, three step-children, Sheila Anne Thompson (Springville, UT), Apryll Louise (Shawn) Stewart (Glendale, AZ), Justin Hutchinson (Salt Lake City, UT), and five step-grandchildren.
She is also survived by four brothers and one sister, Steven (Norine) Wayment (Garland, UT) David (Kathy) Wayment (Layton, UT), Bryan (Linda) Wayment (Clinton, UT), Lynnette (Sheldon) Harris (Midvale, UT), and Craig Wayment (Florence, AZ)
She was preceded in death by her mother, an infant son, Clinton Patrick Carolan, and son-in-law, Robert Pinardo.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Spanish Fork 15th Ward, 1006 East 200 South. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, and on Monday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
