Georgia Cheney, 93, of Gallipolis died in Pinecrest Care Center Tuesday morning. Arrangements will be announced by McCoy-Moore Funeral Home Whetherholt Chapel Gallipolis.

Georgia Hylton Cheney, 93 State Street, Gallipolis, died Tuesday , November 16, 1993 in the Pine Crest Care Center. She attended the First Baptist Church of Gallipolis. Born June 5, 1900 in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Richard Hylton and Anna Belcher. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Leonard Cheney, three brothers and five sisters. Survivors include three sons, John Cheney, Jr., Gallipolis, Ray (Grace) Cheney, Kanauga, and Carl Cheney, Gallipolis; three daughters, Lillie May Cheney, Lancaster, Enabelle (Russell) See, Point Pleasant, WV, and Dottie (Freemon) Locke, Gallipolis, one sister, May Denham, Barberton; 15 grandchildren, eight, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Mound Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Woodrow North officiating. Funeral Services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bossard Memorial Library, 641 Second Ave., Gallipolis.
