Myrtle Tetrick Collins Graham Hicks
Myrtle Hicks, daughter of Harrison Tetrick and Mary Catherine Driskell Tetrick was born on May 14, 1909 in Trail, MO in Ozark County and passed away with her family by her side on January 21, 2008 in Marshfield, MO at the age of 98 years, 8 months and 7 days.
Myrtle was resident of the Ava community most of her life. She was a housewife and loving mother. She was married to Otis Collins and to this union eight children were born. He preceded her in death. Later in years she married Rube Graham and to this union one daughter, Mary was born. Rube preceded her in death. On Feb. 13, 1976 Myrtle and Earl Hicks were united in marriage in Marshfield, MO. Earl preceded her in death in 1982.
Myrtle was a member of the Ava Church of Christ. She enjoyed music, working in her flower bed, quilting, reading and cooking for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one brother, Floyd, two sisters, Maude & Lulu, one daughter, Marie Hicks, two sons, Floyd Dale Collins and Don Collins and an infant child.
She is survived by five children and their spouses, Charles Dean & LaVerne Collins, Fair Grove, MO, Bonnie Haskins, Muscatine, IA, Fena & Herb Johnston, Lakeview, AR, Dexter & Lynne Collins, Buffalo, IA and Mary & Johnnie Crain, Muscatine, IA, 23 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, one sister, Iva Berry, Drury, MO and a host of other relatives and friends.
A service for Myrtle will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Ava, MO with Brad Smith officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. till service time. Interment will following in the Ava Cemetery. Family requests memorials to American Heart Association.
