HELD HERE THURSDAY
Funeral Services for M.H. Barney, 74, who passed away at the home of his son, M.H. Barney, Jr. of Jamestown, were held at the Congregational Church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. W.A. Bunnett conducted the services. Mr. Barney's death occurred last Tuesday as the result of heart failure.
He was born in New York state September 23, 1854. Coming to North Dakota in 1896 when the family moved to the Scarff farm, now known as the M. Real place. Residing there until 1904.
He is survived by a brother, M.L. Barney of Los Angeles, California; sister, Mrs. Rhonda Johnson of Minneapolis, and three sons, J.L. Barney of Michigan, ND, W.H. Barney of Grand Forks and M.H. Barney, Jr. of Jamestown.
Mrs. H.L. Sheets and son of Brinsmade, N.D., a niece of the deceased together with the sons were present at the funeral. Special music was rendered by Mrs. E.H. Greenlee, Mrs. W.D. Wagar, and Messrs. Hong and Cliff Harrigon.
