LAUREL — Clarence E. Noah, 79, 27024 Stipps Hill Road, Laurel, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Franklin County, a son of Earl and Elva Throckmorton Noah. He lived in the Buena Vista area all of his life. He married Lois Herrmann June 30, 1951. He worked 40 years at American Kitchens and later Design and Manufacturing in Connersville, retiring in 1985. He was active in Buena Vista Christian Church having been an elder and a Sunday school teacher. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the European theater as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Survivors include his wife: a son, Dale E. Noah of Buena Vista; a daughter, Rhonda Kay McPherson of Connersville; seven brothers, Donald Noah of Buena Vista. Albert and Larry Noah, both of Clarksburg; Everett and Douglas Noah, both of Connersville, James Noah of Fraser, Mich., and John Noah of Rochester, Mich.; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Jessie Pepper of Buena Vista, Maxine Grubbs and Julia Hamilton, Fay and Ralph Poe, all of Connersville; a granddaughter and her spouse, Betheny and Lonnie Paul of Connersville and a great-granddaugher, Mackenzie Kay Paul of Connersville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Retha Smith Kelly and two brothers, Carter and Russell "Buck" Noah.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Moster & Cox Mortuary, 334 Main St., Rushville, with Paul Johnson and the Rev. John Johnson officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clarksburg Cemetery in Decatur County. Graveside military services will be conducted by the Greensburg American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons or Buena Vista Christian Church.
