ELMER ARMSTRONG
Funeral Services for Elmer Armstrong, 82, pioneer Oregon farmer who died at an Indepdendence nursing home Thursday, were Tuesday in Lincoln Memorial chapel.
Mr. Armstrong was born near Silverton February 1, 1869. His parents crossed the plains in 1850 to Oregon. He moved to Washington in 1900 and retired from farming to live in Goldendale. Three years ago he moved to Portland and was living at 6235 N.E. Shaver avenue. He and the widow, Emma Armstrong had celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary earlier this year.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edna Barron, Amarillo, Tex., and Mrs. Ethyl Walker, San Francisco, and a son, H.A. Armstrong.
