SANDOVAL MAN DIES SUDDENLY
H.H. Bellamy, Bank Cashier and City Treasurer Succumbs
SANDOVAL( Special) - Harry H. Bellamy, cashier of the local First National Bank, died suddenly here early this morning. He was village treasurer.
Bellamy, only 57, was a prominent resident of this community.
He was born here in 1891, the son of J.S. and Ella Vawter Bellamy. He attended the Sandoval school system and later took a job as bookkeeper at the local zinc smelter.
In 1923, he married Stella Powter, two years after he had become cashier at the bank.
Mr. Bellamy was a member of the Christian church and served as an elder and trustee for the last several years. He was a member of the Sandoval A.F. and A.M. No. 932.
A charter member of the local Lions club, he held membership in most other local civic organizations as well. He was also a member of American Legion Post No. 995.
In addition to holding the post of Sandoval treasurer, he held a similar position with the Sandoval ľOdin school district. He was a trustee of the Sandoval Protective Fire District.
Surviving relatives in addition to his wife include two brothers, C.C. Bellamy of Centralia and John G. Bellamy of Marion, Ky.; one sister, Mrs. Charlotte B. Worley of West LaFayette, Ind., and nieces and nephews.
Although Mr. Bellamy was known to be in failing health for the last year, his death was sudden and unexpected. He had appeared regularly at his position at the bank until Monday.
Burial will be at the Sandoval cemetery.
