Leonilla Sena Ackerman Jun, 18, 1935 - Apr. 18, 2015 Resident of Concord Leonilla passed peacefully on April 18, 2015. Devoted Mother of Aaron (Dawn) Ackerman and Laura (Ray) Warner, and cherished grandmother to 7 grandchildren. She was the oldest of 6 siblings, born to Anecleto "Joe" & Celadonia "Sally" Sena. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Annabelle, Priscilla, and Jeannie. Survived by brothers Jakie and Tito. Born in Ojo Caliente, NM her family moved to Richmond, CA when she was 7. She started her career at Mechanics Bank in Richmond, CA. After moving to Concord in 1968, she worked part time at the MDUSD and later returned to the banking industry at Wells Fargo Bank, retiring in 1997. Nilla, as she was affectionately known, was an avid reader, loved to garden, growing tomatoes and chili, she also was a member of the PH and Concord Senior Center and played bingo every Wednesday. She enjoyed going to the casinos whenever possible and spending time with family and friends. Nilla was grateful for her Caring Hands friendships, Judy and Marilyn, she also appreciated all that Bridget did for her and her Meals on Wheels friends were a comfort and companionship to her. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00am, with the Memorial Services beginning at 11:00 on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at St. Joseph Cemetery, 2540 Church Lane, San Pablo, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Bruns Hospice House, Meals on Wheels or Caring Hands.
