Diana was the daughter of John Verner & Mary Cochran Pettigrew.
Diana was married to William Henry Wakefield.
Excerpt from letter written by Diana's son, John A. Wakefield to his daughter, Mary Ann Willard, on 25 Aug 1853 in Lycurgus, Iowa:
"I have just returned from a trip to Quincy, Illinois. I have been down to see my old mother once more, and all your uncles and aunts they told me to send their best regards to you. They are living still in Adams, county where they settled more than twenty five years ago."
Believe Diana is buried in Quincy, but have not found her grave yet. Or possibly in Belleville, IL, where her husband died and may be buried. Any help would be appreciated.
