Justin graduated from Teaneck High School and later attended Lafayette College.
He graduated from the Academy of Aeronautics in 1942. He received his BS in 1954 and his Masters degree in 1968, both from the University of Maryland.
He met his future bride, Betsey Graham Trotter, at the Glenn L. Martin Company in Baltimore, MD, where they both worked as aeronautical draftsmen. They were married on June 26, 1943 at the Mounty Calvary Episcopal Church in Baltimore, MD. They had two children, Alison and Andrew.
Justin served in the Army during World War II and earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart in Belgium. He was called up again for service during the Korean War in 1950. He taught drafting at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in Baltimore for over 25 years. After retirement, he and Betsey moved to Ashland, Virginia where he was extremely active in various volunteer organizations.
Justin was an avid sailor, cyclist and dancer and lived life to the fullest.
