George W. Shatzer died at his home a mile north of the toll gate, west of town, Friday at 1:30 p.m., aged 70 years, 6 months and 10 days.
He had been ailing for the past year and a half, and is survived by his widow and four children: Mrs. Andrew Hoover, of town: Carl, who is doing hospital work in the Philippine Islands: John, of Evanston, Ill., and Grant, at home. Six grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Shatzer served his country during the civil war, being with the 165th Regiment PA Infantry and the 21st PA Cavalry for nearly three years.
He was a member of Salem United Brethren Church. Funeral at his late home on Monday at 10 a.m. with interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
