Simon m. Rachel Frasure, a daughter of Presley & Dorothy (Heft) Frasure. They had seven children before Simon went to war.

He was mortally wounded on 8 May 1862 at the Battle of McDowell, but must've been in terrible pain for several days before he died. Simon Pierson was "Pearson" on his military records.
