CSA Veteran - 53rd AL Partisan Rangers;

Although born in Georgia, the family moved to Coosa Co. AL. His parents were Braddock Harris, (sometimes written as Jr. by researchers to distinguish him from his father, and Avey (also written as Avy or Avie) Drusilla Handley [or Hanley].

He married 1) Margaret Linnie Blake on 4 Feb 1847 and they had 7 children. She died. He married Jemima (Jemimy, also called Caroline) Caroline Watt on 22 Dec 1861 and they had 9 children. He moved in 1870 from Alabama to Carrol's Prarie (now Como) Texas arriving "several days before Christmas," with his wife, 6 children from his first marriage and his first 5 children from his second marriage.
