OBITUARY -
Funeral services wll be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Bonnerup & Son Funeral Chapel for James L. Houchin, 81. A resident of the Good Samaritan Center for the last year, Mr. Houchin died at 12:35 p.m. Friday at Naeve Hospital. He had been in failing health for the last year and had been hospitalized the past month.
He was born Dec. 25. 1885 at Shelby, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Houchin. Later he lived in Burwell, Neb.; in South Dakota, and Lancaster, Wis. He came to Minnesota in 1929 and had lived at Mora before coming to Albert Lea. He was a farmer and worked in construction until retiring.

He was preceded in death by two daughters and a son. Six daughters and three sons survive. The daughters are: Mrs. Harold (Eunice) Moser, Blooming Prairie; Mrs. Nels (Dorothy) Oquist and Mrs. Vera Wessels, AIbert Lea; Mrs. George (Lucille) Martin, Popular, Wis.; Mrs. Harry (Hilda) Podberg, Morris and Mrs. Bert (Janice) Ingvaldson, Oakland. Surviving sons are: Alvin D. Houchin, Albert Lea; Erwin D. Houchin, Mason City and Ernest E. Houchin, Glenville.
A sister, Mrs. Worth Crandell, lives at Cheyenne, Wyo. and a brother Glenn Reed, at Henry, S. D. The Rev. Fred Jacobsen will officiate at services. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
