Isaac Myers was born in Jay County, Indiana, on April 25, 1886, the oldest child of Lafayette Myers and Margaret Mae "Maggie" Hanks. Isaac's siblings were Henry Clay, Flora Garland , and Eva Jane [Arnold].

On October 26, 1907, Isaac married Emma Knab in Jay County and they joined the Salamonia Christian Church. Six children were born to the couple on their farm in Noble Township: Henry Ward, Marion Leo, Cleo Doris [Sommers], Dorwin Keith, William Floyd, and Isaac Junior.

Emma and Isaac also raised their granddaughter Judy (daughter of Floyd) after the death of Judy's mother. Isaac lived his entire life in Jay County and died on 21 Jun 1957 at his home near Pennville.
