Mrs. Oscar Collier Dies
In St. Louis Hospital
Mrs. Mary Susan Collier, wife of Oscar Collier of Route 3, passed away last Friday, December 31, 1954, in Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis following an illness of two months' duration. She had been a patient in the hospital for two weeks before her death suffering with a heart ailment.
Mary Susan Collier was born at Oak Hill on August 12, 1890, a daughter of the late Samuel C. Souders and his wife, nee Marie MeDaniel. She grew to womanhood at Oak Hill and on February 20, 1910, was united in marriage to Oscar H. Collier, who survives her. This union was blessed with six children, all of whom survive.
They are Mrs. Clarence Miller, Goeppingen, Germany; Mrs. R. F. Branson of Ferguson; Leslie S. and Oscar W. Collier and Mrs. Levi Cunningham of Owensville; and Everett J. Collier of Rolla. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Martin Jepsen, of Poplar Bluff, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two brothers, Joshua and Logan Souders, and one sister, Marjorie Souders, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Collier made a host of friends in the community through her pleasant disposition. She was a meriber of the Royal Neighbors of America, Oak Hill Camp.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Oak Hill Baptist Church, of which she was a member, with interment in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The Revs.
