Richard E. Maxberry
Funeral for Richard E. Maxberry, 61, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. William B. Carlin II, rector, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, officiating.
Mr. Maxberry died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009.
Burial with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin.
He was born July 30, 1948, in Ada. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1966, and was a member of the second graduating class. He played football at Eisenhower. He was also a graduate of Cameron University. A proud patriot, he served with honor in Vietnam in the U.S. Special Forces. After living in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado, he returned to Lawton to establish his home and his business, Real Property Resources, Inc. He was involved with the Arts for All for many years as well as other Lawton civic and business organizations.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Maxberry, of the home; a son, Dylan Maxberry, Minneapolis; his mother and stepfather, Mary Maxberry-Frisbie and Marvin Frisbie, Lawton; a sister and her husband, Annette Maxberry-Carrara and Jean Luis, Dallas; a stepson, Chris Rockhold, Lawton; nieces and nephews: Arielle and Armand Carrara, and Kameron and Logan Franklin, all of Dallas; Ryan Price, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Ethan Price, Hawaii; a brother and sister-in-law, Tod and Karen Franklin, Dallas; and sister-in-law, April Price, Albuquerque.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Earl Maxberry
The family wil receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
